Ever since I fell in love with God’s Word, I’ve wanted to teach it to God’s people. In January 2025, the Lord affirmed that desire by calling me into pastoral ministry at Soteria Church in West Des Moines, Iowa. My joy is opening Scripture with clarity and pointing people to Christ through accessible, Christ-centered exposition from the pulpit, in the classroom, and across the table..
My ministry journey has been shaped by faithful churches and generous leaders. From 2017–2019, I served as an Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church in Monroe, Iowa. In June 2020, I joined the staff of Soteria Church as a pastoral assistant. Over the years, I’ve served in several roles, and today I have the privilege of serving as the Growth Groups Pastor, helping people know, love, and follow Jesus in biblical community.
In addition to my work at Soteria, I serve as the Network Coordinator for The Great Exchange Network (TGX). TGX is a micro-network of churches committed to multiplying leaders by making disciples who strengthen local churches that partner around the gospel. Our vision is simple: relational, biblically rooted cooperation between churches so that more healthy, gospel-proclaiming congregations take root throughout the heartland. I love helping pastors and churches connect, collaborate, and pursue Christ’s mission together.
ABOUT JOSH
At home, I’m married to my wife, Charity, and together we’re raising three wonderful boys—Matthew, Augustine, and Calvin. Our home is loud, joyful, and often messy. We love ordinary days around the table, walks around the neighborhood, and reading books with the boys piled in our laps. Charity is my closest friend and most trusted partner in ministry, and I’m grateful to serve Jesus together.
Outside of ministry, you’ll usually find me woodworking in the basement, caring for far too many houseplants, reading widely, writing whenever I can, and exploring new coffee shops in the Des Moines area.
